Environmental Policy

As an innovative chemical company with international operations, we consider protection of the environment and conservation of our natural resources as one of the most important challenges in terms of safeguarding the future.

Evonik Röhm GmbH laid down its corporate responsibility for protecting the environment at its plant sites as far back as 1988, in the form of Guidelines for Protection of the Environment. In 1997, Evonik Röhm GmbH started auditing the Environmental Management Systems at its sites on the basis of EU EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme). Evonik Röhm GmbH also takes part in the "Responsible Care" initiative of the association of the German chemical industry. This program stands for the firm intention to constantly improve safety, health and environmental protection.

We at Evonik Röhm GmbH face up to this challenge. Our environment-conscious corporate management centres on the continuous improvement of our pollution control efforts and on the sparing use of resources. In order to achieve these goals, we have added further essential guidelines to our environmental policy. It is a firm component of our corporate activities and an obligation for each of our employees, because we all set a personal example in implementing the safety and environmental objectives.
