CYRO Industries Appoints Market Development Manager  for Optical and Specialty Markets 

— Twenty-Year Veteran to Focus on Solar Energy, Consumer Electronics, and Opto-Electronic Applications — 

 PARSIPPANY, N.J. – May 2008 – CYRO Industries, a subsidiary of Evonik Degussa Corporation, announces the appointment of Douglas A. Weishaar as Market Development Manager, Optics and Specialty Market Segment. In his new position, Weishaar will focus on solar energy, surface protection and opto-electronics (lenses, light guide panels). He will also work on packaging, appliances, films, engineered compounds and alloys. The main consideration is how CYRO’s molding compounds can bring advantages to designs in those applications.

A highly accomplished sales and marketing professional with 20 years of direct sales and marketing experience in the industrial products market, Weishaar will research new business opportunities. He will also develop and build relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), internal research and development teams, and external industry organizations. His appointment is part of CYRO’s commitment to develop new applications for its current products, and/or expanding and further developing its current product portfolio into these key markets.

Prior to joining CYRO, Weishaar was Business Development Manager for Kurz Transfer Products, LP, where he increased segment sales by 300% over a two-year period. He has also held business development and product/sales positions during his career. Weishaar earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration/Finance from The Ohio State University.
